- An item is eligible for entry into the challenge if it contains at least one component of locally sourced raw material (e.g. dyed with local natural dyes, or made from start-to-finish with locally sourced wool).
- Raw input material must be sourced from within 100-km of the artist’s home. Raw input materials can include:
- Animal fibre or products (fleece, hide, feathers, etc..)
- Plant fibre (e.g. flax, nettle, etc…)
- Recycled materials (e.g. thrifted fabric, re-purposed clothing, etc…) specifically sourced for this challenge
- Eligible raw input materials cannot include:
- Yarns, fibres, fabrics, in your stash/storage that you did not specifically source for this competition. This challenge asks you to be creative with what you can find in your local environment, but is not an exercise in stash-busting. Local fleeces or yarns in your stash ARE eligible, however. 🙂
- Makers and artists can participate by making any number and/or combination of items (e.g. 1 hat or a complete head-to-toe outfit!). Makers and artists can also collaborate to produce an item (e.g. one maker does the spinning, another does the weaving). We can help mix-and-match skills as requested!

- Complete head-to-toe outfits, all components locally sourced
- Complete head-to-toe outfits, with recycled components (see rules above)
- Individual categories for individual item categories (e.g. headwear, shirts, jackets, pants/dresses, accessories)
