About

We are a not-for-profit in the Alberni Valley, Tseshaht and Hupacasath First Nations territory, British Columbia. We promote fibre arts including fibre production, processing, spinning, weaving, felting, and dyeing in our community. We aim to preserve traditional skills for self sufficiency and cultural tradition, and we work to participate in growing a Vancouver Island fibreshed and local textile economy. Fibre is the medium through which we grow community, build resilience, produce ethical textiles, and create local supply chains.

What we offer:

  • Monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of the month from January – April and September – December. No meetings in the summer months.
  • Workshops on an ad hoc basis
  • Bi-weekly spinning drop-ins at the Alberni Valley Museum every second Thursday from 6pm – 8pm. No drop-ins in the summer months.
  • Demonstrations at community events such as the Children’s Festival, Alberni Valley Fall Fair, Harbour Quay Farmer’s Market
